I just left Jersey Pickles in South Hackensack, and I have to say — what a fantastic experience. Giovanni greeted me warmly and took the time to walk me through several of their pickle and tomato selections. I came in curious, and he was not only generous with samples but also impressively knowledgeable and genuinely pleasant to talk to. It’s rare to find that kind of hospitality paired with such passion for the craft.
Giovanni told me that yhey’ve only been at this location for about a month or so, but they’re already off to a strong start. The space feels fresh, the energy is great, and the products speak for themselves.
🥒 Tasting Highlights:
• Dill Pickle (Whole): Bright, tart, and full of flavor — classic done right.
• Dill Pickled Tomato: Crunchy and savory with a satisfying snap.
• Olives with Pimento: Salty in all the best ways, with a briny depth that lingers.
• Spicy Pickled Tomato: A gentle heat that builds just enough to excite the palate without overwhelming it.
• Full Sour Pickled Tomato: Great garlic flavor and not overly sour but lands just right.
• Texas Sweet Chili Pickle: Normally I steer clear of bread and butter flavored pickles, but this one surprised me. It starts sweet, then finishes with a subtle kick of heat — the first time I’ve genuinely enjoyed this style. I didn’t buy this one, but maybe next time.

I even got to try their pickle chips — crisp, flavorful, and addictive. I walked out with five jars and already know I’ll be back as soon as I finish them. Let’s see how long that takes!
If you’re anywhere near Bergen County and love pickles, this place is a must-visit. Great people, great flavors, and a great addition to the neighborhood.
